Queenstown’s leading visitor attraction, Skyline Gondola Restaurant & Luge, is proud to unveil its new webcam.
Showcasing Queenstown’s most spectacular views, the new webcam gives viewers a much better understanding of the panoramic views available from Skyline’s unique location, 450m high above Queenstown.
The webcam is programmed to take static images of 13 pre-set points, which are updated every 10 minutes, giving viewers an up close view of the surrounding mountain peaks, downtown Queenstown, the Luge and Skyline viewing decks.
Sales & Marketing Manager, James Helmore says “The new webcam is a fantastic tool to showcase our spectacular views to customers from around the world. There is no better way of selling ourselves, especially when a customer is sitting in their office in the middle of a large city, than for them to be watching the sunset on the Remarkables mountain range!”
A maximum of 20 images of each of the 13 pre-set points can be played on a webcam viewer to create a “moving pictures” sequence. This is particularly spectacular at dawn and dusk or when the weather changes, like when clouds roll in across the surrounding mountain peaks.
The webcam can be easily accessed through the Skyline website - www.skyline.co.nz - and clicking on the Webcam link. The webcam technology was developed by Magic Memories, a key partner for Skyline in the provision of photographic solutions.
